Hat Type
Custom Corduroy Dad Hats
A dad hat shape in corduroy: low unstructured crown, soft curved bill, and a textured surface that reads more considered than plain cotton. Popular with brand and retail programs where the cap is a product rather than a giveaway.

What this build is
Corduroy is a pile fabric, so decoration has to be planned against the texture. Fine detail can disappear into the wale, which is why larger marks and patches work better than small text.
The pile also means colour reads deeper than on flat cotton, and it shifts with the light. That is usually the reason a brand chooses it — the cap photographs differently from a plain twill.
Why the construction decides the decoration
A dad hat shape keeps the corduroy casual. The low unstructured crown and soft bill suit the fabric better than a tall structured front, which can look heavy in pile.
Decoration is checked against the build before anything is quoted. If the artwork suits a different method or a different construction, we say so at that point rather than after sampling.
The specification below is confirmed in writing before a sample is made, and the bulk run is compared against the approved sample.

Where this project can go wrong
Fine detail lost in the pile
Thin strokes and small text sink into the wale. Larger marks and patches reproduce more faithfully.
Dense 3D puff on a soft crown
Without rigid backing, a heavy fill can pull the pile and pucker the panel.
Assuming corduroy is a winter-only fabric
Wale width and weight decide how warm it wears. A finer wale in a lighter weight works across more of the year.
Washing without care
Pile fabrics need cool water and air drying. Heat flattens the wale permanently.
What we confirm before production
Every order is quoted by the actual spec, sampled for approval, and checked against the approved sample before shipping.
Build chosen against your artwork
We review the logo file first and tell you which construction reproduces it cleanly.
Decoration checked against fabric
If the chosen fabric will not carry the method, you hear it before sampling rather than after production.
One written specification
Fabric, profile, closure, decoration and packing are confirmed on the order sheet.
Sample before bulk
Nothing goes into production until a physical sample has been approved against the specification.
Common questions
A dad hat shape — low unstructured crown, soft curved bill, adjustable closure — cut in corduroy rather than plain cotton twill. The pile gives a deeper colour and a textured surface.
Larger embroidered marks and applied patches. Fine lines and small text can disappear into the wale, so artwork is usually simplified before stitching.
It depends on the wale and the weight. A wider wale in a heavier fabric wears warmer; a fine wale in a lighter weight is comfortable across more of the year.
On a structured front, yes. On a soft unstructured crown a dense fill can pull the fabric, so we would normally recommend flat embroidery or a patch instead.
Cool water, mild detergent, hand wash, and air dry over a form. Heat flattens the pile and it does not come back.
Send the reference and we will match against the available range. Pile fabric shifts colour under light, so a physical swatch is the reliable way to compare.
Yes. Corduroy is available on the other constructions we build, including five-panel and six-panel shapes.
Minimums depend on the build and the decoration. Send the specification and target quantity and we will confirm.
